CUBE Wheelchair Power Generators
Peace of Mind. Freedom.
Current power wheelchair users experience universal dissapointment with the power delivered by lead-acid gel cell batteries. Fully electric wheelchairs are the most important mobility devices for many people who are aging as well as for those with neurological diseases or have experienced traumatic injury to their spinal cords.
The most significant short-coming of these wheelchairs is the lack of power from their main energy source, lead-acid batteries (usually gel cells or AGM cells). This shortage becomes even more acute as more electronic devices become integrated into the chair, such as embolizers, oxygen generators, and ventilators to assist in breathing and computers to aid in various tasks such as communicating and interpreting advanced chair control stimuli via puffs of air, or eye movement. In addition, these batteries are not well suited to the punishing deep discharge conditions to which they are subject in wheelchairs, resulting in the need to replace the batteries every 1-2 years at considerable cost to the user and/or the healthcare system.
CUBE Technology, Inc. has solved this power shortfall and all but eliminated the deep discharging of these important batteries in wheelchair applications with its Personal Power Generator. Integrated into the chair or added as an after-market power source, wheelchair owners will no longer experience the embarrassment of running out of battery power, and they will save money because their current batteries will last for more years.
For severely disabled individuals or seniors, CUBE Personal Power Gererators are more than peace of mind, they are freedom.
CUBE has received a grant from the National Institutes of Health to explore personal power generation on wheelchairs.
